Second Chance
They say everyone deserves a second chance. Just like any other people, I gave Luna Negra a second chance. The first time I went there, I didn’t have a good experience. Am not saying that they were bad, I’m just unsatisfied.
This time I ordered the Asian Sweet and Sour Salad with Grilled Beef (63k). I had this before too and keep looking for more. This is one of the great salads.
I ordered another entrée; it’s Mussels in Spicy Tomato Sauce (63k). I was surprised, it was quite a huge serving and I really love it! The mussels are fresh and very wise portion. Clearly yet tangy tomato sauce with garlic bread. However, it’s a bit too oily and I barely taste the spiciness.
Instead of having a pizza, I went for Spaghetti Seafood in Tomato Sauce (120k). They served a generous amount of clams, mussels, prawns and squids in al dente spaghetti. Too bad, the squids and scallops a bit overcooked. I don’t know why, but this tomato sauce was a bit lack in the flavor. I couldn’t taste the richness of the tomato. It’s different than the one that they used for the mussels. This one was fishy and salty. Despite, the seafood and spaghetti itself was okay.
Move on to next dish, it’s Pan Fried Chicken Breast with Mushroom sauce served with Vegetables Gratin (75k). They actually offered three selections of sauces. For the vegetables gratin, they used tomato, zucchini, bell peppers, mushroom and egg plant. All of them were cooked and season well. I love the crunchiness bread crumb and the veggies still have the crunchiness texture. The chicken was very moist and juicy. They served it with generous amount of mushroom sauce; unfortunately it’s a bit creamy. I’d prefer just the plain mushroom sauce.
For the beverage, I ordered Luna Ice Tea. It’s their authentic ice tea. They used grass jelly in it. Even though there’s mint in it, it wasn’t strong enough to my liking. I also barely taste the sugar cane yet the grass jelly flavor was very strong.
This time, I also got the welcoming bread that I didn’t get it the other time. The bread was moist and freshly made.
Turns out, they didn’t ruin the chances. I was satisfied even though there’s some missing spot. Right now, I have one more Italian Restaurant as my favorite. As long as I ordered the right menu and they served it in a right way, I guarantee will come back often.
